Frugal Shopping Trip and Updates!

I headed out yesterday to do some shopping and all and all was a good trip.  I would have really liked to have split up my Walgreen's transactions a little better to prevent the fact that I now have $22 in RR!  However, my husband was waiting on me to eat a little Mexican for lunch and I SURE couldn't pass that up, so I did my shopping as quickly as I could and hurried over to have a taco :)

Here's a look at Rite Aid....

Retail cost of these items is $25.30, I paid $4.57 and got back $11 in +up rewards making the final cost FREE + $6.43!!  Don't forget the awesome money making deal on Revlon Beauty Tools that I posted about here!

Next up, Walgreen's.....

Retail cost of this trip is $56.51, I paid $32.51 and I got back $22 in RR making the final cost $10.51.  Again, I would have liked to have used some of the RR to pay for other items in different transactions, BUT Lunch with my husband (and Mexican at that) was much more important!

Don't forget about the Walgreen's Deals I posted about here and how to get the money maker on the Noxzema Razors.  Also, to add to the deals, the Cottonelle Toilet paper is on sale for $5 for a 12 pack.  There is an unadvertised RR deal going on when you buy 2 packs of Cottonelle you will get $3 RR or buy 3 packs and get $4 RR. Here's how to work a great deal for that:

Purchase 3 packs of Cottonelle Toilet Paper = $15.00
Use:  (3) .50/1 coupons from here or here
Plus use the $1/1 from the May Walgreen's Coupon Book (will deduct $3)
Pay:  $10.50
Get Back:  $4 RR
Final Cost:  $6.50 for all 3 or $2.17 each!!
Thanks Hip2Save  and Wild for Wags for the coupon links and deal idea!

Also, be on the look for the $2/1 coupons inside the Noxzema Razors.  After you purchase these, you can use the coupon inside to score another pack for FREE + $1.00

Noxzema Razors - $3.99 get a $3 RR
Use:  $2/1 from 5/1 or inside package (after you purchase)
Pay:  $1.99
Get Back:  $3
Final Cost:  FREE + $1!

So, Final Costs for the day...
Retail Cost:  $81.81
I paid: $37.08
I got back in rewards: $33.00
FINAL COST:  $4.08

Not too shabby!  How did you do this week?  Leave a comment, I'd love to hear about your money saving shopping trips!

Today I took a little time out to do some bargain shopping at a few of my favorite stores, Walgreens, Rite Aid and I did pick up the Freebie that CVS was offering up earlier on Facebook this week. So here's a look at how it went:

I purchased these items at Walgreens.  The total retail cost is: $13.91, I paid $8.02 and I can submit for the $5 Gatorade Rebate, because I purchased all three of the G Series Fit products in one transaction.  So the Final Cost of these items would be $3.02!!  Just as a side note, the Hot Wheels are BOGO FREE This week at $1.29, so .60 each!

Next up is Rite Aid(there is one Cadbury egg missing from this picture :)....Retail Cost: $32.83, I paid $2.28 AND got back $15 in +up rewards and can submit for a $2.99 Rebate on the Hot Shot Ant Spray.  For more info on that head over here.  That makes the final cost for the above items FREE + Overage!!

Here's how you can score the Hot Shot Spray for FREE + overage!
Purchase one Hot Shot Insect Spray - $2.99 get a $1 +up
Look for .55/1 peelie coupons on product
Pay: $2.44

Frugal Shopping Trip

So, I hit up all three stores yesterday on a little shopping trip and here are the results!!

First off is CVS:

The retail cost of this trip is $48.21, I paid out of pocket $18.21 and got back $10.50 ECB for a Final Cost of: $7.71!!  I broke this down into two transactions to lower my out of pocket and make better use of my ECB.  If you're headed out to CVS don't forget to take along this great $5 off $40 coupon I posted about here.

Next - Walgreens:

Retail Cost of the items pictured above is: $25.15, I paid out of Pocket $2.03 and I got back $1 RR.  I, again, did 2 transactions so I could use the RRs from the first to pay for the second.  This is a great way to minimize your out of pocket cost.

And Last but not least - Rite Aid:

With a Retail Cost of $46.15, I actually paid $18.65 and then I got back $21.98 in +up rewards AND a $10 Single Check Rebate!   Look for the Gillete Razor Travel Kits as they are working for the +up Rewards too. Take a look at this Candy Deal I posted about here to score yourself some great Easter basket fillers!

Total Retail Price of All Items: $119.51
I paid Out of Pocket:  $38.89
Then I got Back : $33.48 in Rewards and a $10 Rebate
Final Cost:  FREE + $4.59!!!!

*I did have some rewards that I used at each store from last week as well to bring the cost down to this amount.  That is the great thing about the rewards, once you start shopping and gain rewards, you use them the next week to buy other reward deals.  How great is THAT!!

What did you get this week?? Leave a comment with your shopping trips :)

Quite honestly, I didn't think there was a whole lot to shop for this week.  I even thought I might skip out on going (yes I do that from time to time, hard to believe I know:) But, after I got there, I was so glad I went. Here's a look at what I picked up today.  First up is Walgreens....

The retail cost of this trip is: $17.38, I paid $2.02 (over half of that is tax!) and got back $12 in RR!

Now on to Rite Aid...I didn't have very many +up rewards to use this week (only $1.88) and I forgot to bring my $3/15 coupon so my out of pocket was a little more than what I would have liked.  Retail Cost:  $35.48, I paid $17.45 and got back $13 in +up rewards.  So not too bad. Here's a look at what I got....

The Swiffers' were a pretty good deal when using the BOGO FREE coupon from the 2/27 P&G. I also used a $2/1 coupon that I got out of a box I previously purchased.

Swiffer Sweeper Cloths - $4.99
Use:  BOGO FREE from 2/27 P&G AND $2/1 from product
Final Cost:  $2.99 or $1.50 each!

Frugal Shopping Trip/Updates for CVS and Walgreens

So, went out and did a little shopping today.  I didn't make it to Rite Aid but did hit up CVS and Walgreens.  Thank you to those of you who have posted their Rite Aid deals on the Facebook page and in the comment section of the blog!  I hope to swing by there sometime this week, too.

First up is Walgreens.  Retail cost:  $28.35, I paid out of pocket: $1.16 and got back $6 in RR!!  Here's a look:

Next stop CVS! Retail Cost:  $10.44, I paid out of pocket:  $1.44 and got back $4.50 in ECB!

Pretty good shopping week!  Here's a couple of updates for some more deals you can score!

Walgreens

Clearasil products are on sale $2 off AND get a $2 RR when you buy one.  The above Face Wash was priced on sale at $2.99
Use:  $1/1 from 3/13 SS
Pay:  $1.99
Get Back: $2.00 RR
Final Cost:  FREE

CVS
Herbal Essences or Aussie Shampoo 2/$5.97 get a $2 ECB
Use:  BOGO FREE from 3/13 SS
AND $1/1 from P&G Coupon Book
Pay:  $1.99
Get Back:  $2 ECB

Irish Spring Body Wash - $2.99 get a $2 ECB
Use: .50/1 from 3/17 SS
Pay:  $2.49

One more thing to note at CVS.  The past couple of times I have been in there, I have scanned my card twice (due to the fact that I have 2 kids and they fight over who gets to scan the card).  Each time, I get different sets of coupons.  The first scan usually sends out just one and then the next will print several that have been pretty good.  Could be total luck, but worth a shot next time you're in there.  Let me know if you get the same result!  What did you get this week?  Leave a comment with your shopping trip!

Frugal Shopping Trip!!!

It was a good week, but kind of a slow week in the Frugal Shopping area!  Because I only purchased 2 items at Walgreens, I have included them in this photo with the Rite Aid items.  I was able to get the Gain Dish Washing Detergent and Dove Deodorant at Walgreens for FREE using the coupons I outlined in this post.  Everything else came for Rite Aid.  The total retail price of everything pictured is: $36.35, I paid out of pocket: $6.36 for a savings of right at $30.00!! I got back $24 in +up rewards to use for next time...so not too bad of a day:)

A couple of things to note, this is the last week to finish up your Winter Spending at Rite Aid.  Purchase $100 worth of participating items and receive a $20 +up reward. So, take a look at the bottom of your receipt to see your progress and decide if you are close enough to finish it out this week.   For more info head over here.

Another item to mention is the Dove Shampoo.  It is priced this week at Rite Aid 2/$6 get a $2 + up reward.  Here's how you can work this deal:
Purchase 2 Dove Shampoos at 2/$6
Use:  (2) $1/1 from 1/30 RP

Final Cost:  $2 or $1 each

That's a pretty good deal in itself, however be on the look out for clearance Dove Shampoo.  I was able to get the 2 pictured on Clearance for 50% off and still received the $2 + up reward.

Purchase 2 Dove Shampoos on 50% off clearance at $2.49 each = $4.98

Frugal Shopping Trip

Here's my shopping trip from yesterday.  I hope to swing by CVS this afternoon and pick up a few things there, too.  The first picture is from Walgreens.  Retail was $22.47, I paid $10.47 and got back $9.00 in RR. So Final Cost:  $1.47!!

Now for Rite Aid.  Retail Cost of this trip was $46.00, I paid $5.46 and I got back $14.00 in +up Rewards. Not too bad:)  I do want to share with you all, in hopes of helping each of us realize that we do all make mistakes and mess ups when trying to "frugal shop" and it's ok.  I totally forgot to hand over 3 coupons that would have totalled $3.50 toward this transaction!  I was in a hurry and it happens to all of us:) I still think it was a pretty good deal (but $2.00 out of pocket would have been better haha!)

Frugal Shopping Trip

Well, this week has been a bit challenging in the way of shopping for me.  Between the weather and some other obligations I had this week, my shopping has been very minimal. (my husband is super excited about that:).  It just brings me to a point that all of us should try and remember...we can't possibly get EVERY deal that comes a long.  If you can shop that's great, if you can't shop don't fret...there will be another week with FREE toothpaste soon!  haha! I did pick up a few things today while out for an appointment.  Most of the things I was going for was out of stock, but here's a look at what I did score:

This was my shopping trip to Walgreens.  I promise I did purchase 3, but I have a little munchkin who LOVES Trail Mix and one bag didn't quite make it home:)  These were retail of $5.00 for 3 bags.  I used a RR from last week of $3.00 and got back a $2.00 RR for purchasing 3 bags, so Final Cost was FREE!!

This is from Rite Aid (I SO wanted the Betty Crocker Cake and Cookie mix, but it was all gone).  Retail Cost of these items: $22.00, after coupons and I had +up rewards from last week I actually paid $0 out of pocket!!  And I received $11.00 in +up rewards!

Just a point to remember, when using rewards from any store, you must pay the taxes with actual money.  They will not allow you to use rewards to pay the tax.  However, a few weeks ago at RiteAid, some +up rewards did not print on some items that I purchased.  The clerk put the amount of rewards onto a Gift Card which can be used for anything.  That is how I ended up leaving there with no money out of pocket.  Just wanted to clarify how I ended up with a $0 balance and to keep anyone from getting confused :)

How about YOU?? Did you get out and shop this week??? I would LOVE to hear about it!  Leave a comment below with your "brags"! Can't wait to hear them:)

Walgreens Shopping Trip

Walgreens

I usually put my Walgreen's and Rite Aid shopping trips together into one post, but I wanted you to see what items came from what store to better help you understand the way you can work deals!  At Walgreens today, I was able to get the items above for only $5.10 and got back a $3.00 RR, so Final Cost would be $2.10.  The retail price on these items is $17.34!

Make sure and take advantage of the $1/2 Butterfingers Snackerz that you can print from coupons.com combined with the Walgreens In Ad Coupon for .39 Butterfinger Candy.

One For the Record Books!

So today, I experienced a first for me personally.  Something that I didn't realize could happen or that I could actually plan so brilliantly that it would be possible!(I was totally shocked at the check out, did not plan this deal up at all!)  Have I got your interest peaked??  On my shopping trip today, I went to CVS and to Kroger.  I had a plan at CVS to purchse two transactions in order to maximize my ECB.  Also, if you still have your FREE Excedrin Coupons this is a great way to make good use of them. My first transaction went MUCH better than planned!  Here's a photo of my items:

Retail Cost of : $29.74 +Tax of $1.61 = $31.35
My Subtotal before tax was: .58-!!!! (negative 58 cents!!)
Tax:  $1.61 (- the .58 credit)
Total: $1.03!!! - I SO wish I could have posted a pic of the recpt. but it was too blurred to read :(
I have never had a total drop below $0.  Didn't even know it was possible!  Here's how it worked out:
Crest Mouth Wash - $3.99
Huggies Diapers - $8.99 (for a gift)
Excedrin ES 20 ct - $5.49
Excedrin Migraine 24 ct - $2.64 (Buy one get one 50% off)
Excedrin ES 24 ct - $4.79
Excedrin PM 8 ct - .99
Note:  all the Excedrins had FREE 8 ct bottles attached to them, so be on the look for those when you go!
I used:
$2.00 off Huggies from 1/26
$2.00 off Huggies CVS coupon
$2.00 off Crest Mouthwash - 12/26 PG
(3)FREE Excedrin Coupns we rec'd in the mail a few weeks back - $5.99 ea total - $17.97
3.50 off Excedrin PM, no size restriction, rec'd these by mail too
Total - .58-!!!  Of course I did have to pay part of the tax, so out of pocket cost was $1.03
BUT, I got back $3.99 ECB on the mouthwash and $1.00 ECB on the Diapers

Transaction #2:

(5) 12 packs of Coke - $15.00
I used:
$10 ECB from last weeks Pepsi Deal
$3.99 ECB from Tran. #1
$1.00 ECB from Tran. #1
Subtotal: .01 + .90 tax = .91
Total out of pocket - .91 cents AND
I got back a $5.00 ECB!!

Total of both Transactions -
Retail $47.25
Final Cost:  $1.94! + $5.00 ECB

Kroger Shopping was good too!  I paid $56.99 for some staple items, snacks for the upcoming snow :( and groceries for the week for my family of 4!

This brings me to my question of the day...Have you ever gotten your total below $0?  Were you aware that the store would allow this?  Leave a comment with your experience...I can't wait to hear 'em!
