What Can You Get for $5?

So here's a look at what I picked up for $5 this week...

I picked these items up at Rite Aid in my first Transaction.  Then I used the rewards from this transactions toward five 12 packs of Mountain Dew (not pictured).  The total cost of the above and the 5 packs of soft drinks (after the $4.99 rebate on the hair spray) was just $5.56!  I know, I went over .56 cents this week, but hey we can all have an off week, right?
One thing to look for this week is on the cookies pictured ($1 each), look for .50 off peelie coupons.  These are Rite Aid Store coupons and can be combined with Manufacturers Coupons.  I had a $1/2 MQ, plus the .50 peelies on each of them making all 4 boxes only $1.00!

What Can YOU Get For $5?

This week I wanted to show that you DO NOT have to make special trips to different stores (although you can get a lot of great deals doing so!) and you can still make good use of coupons at the stores you frequent each week.

The items pictured above were all purchased at Wal Mart and Target last week.  The cost of these items were $5.05 and I did use a coupon for each item purchased!

My main point being, that while it is GREAT to get lots of goodies for free or nearly...And I TOTALLY love coming out of the store with bags full of stuff and still have money in my pocket, ANY money saved by using coupons or shopping sales is just that much more money left in your family's budget.

If the "extreme" part of couponing doesn't work for you and your schedule, that's ok!  You can still use coupons on items that you purchase on your normal weekly shopping trip to save money!

PS Have you entered the Melissa And Doug Sunny Patch Sand Toy Giveaway?  One Lucky Frugal Friend Reader will win a prize pack valued at $50, complete with 4 of Melissa And Doug's New Sunny Patch Sand Toys!  Head over here for all the details and to get registered.  You have until Sunday, 6/26 at 8 PM CST to get entered!

What Can YOU Get for $5??

WOW!  Take a look at what I picked up for $5 this week!

I picked up these items at Walgreen's this week and after coupons and Register Rewards my final cost was $4.43.  Please notice that one of my Crunch bars are missing... :)  Also, on the same lines, this is a GREAT week to price match these candy bars at Walmart!  I picked up some Butterfinger bars at Walmart as well and was able to price match to Walgreen's price of .39 each.  Great Price.

Now, I bet you're wondering what I did with the other .57 of my $5.00 budget.  So here's what I picked up to finish out and make good use of my five dollars...

Yes, I did go over by 5 cents!  I actually paid 62 cents for the above items today at JC Penney's!  I picked up this great St. John's Bay Shirt, flip flops, sunglasses and even a pack of silly bands all for the grand total amount of 62 cents!!  This is a retail cost of $54.00!  All the items above were on sale and I, of course, had a coupon ($10/$25) then this week I received a $15 Discover Gift Card from Dove (several months ago there was a Facebook Offer for the first 4,500 people that signed up received a $15 Gift Card...and I got mine in the mail yesterday!) So after using my coupons and my FREE $15 Gift Card from Dove, and the GREAT sales that JCP had going on, I walked out paying 62 cents!!!

Great Day For Shopping! What did you get this week??

What can YOU Get for $5? REALLY what can YOU get for five dollars!

So, I will admit that I am still in vacation/beach/LaLa Land and have barely left my house since we returned home.  My organization skills have seemed to continue being on vacation as well as my couponing!  So, this week I have absolutely nothing to post on the weekly "What can you get for $5?" .

BUT, I know that you frugal friends are doing much better than I, and I am sure that you all have picked up some great five dollar finds in the past couple of weeks.  So, this week's What can you get for $5 is all about YOU!

Please leave a post, picture or comment here or on the Frugal Friends Facebook Page with your great shopping trip.  I would LOVE to hear it and could desperately use a little motivation to get back on track!

Can't wait to hear about your deals :)

What Can YOU Get for $5??

What did I get for $5 this week?  Well here's a look...

This is a combination of items that I purchased at Rite Aid and Walgreens yesterday.  I will post the complete details a little later on in my "Frugal Shopping Trip and Updates" post.  This week was a great week for coupon and reward overage, like in the case of the Revlon Beauty Tools and the Noxzema Razors.  It never hurts to make a little money to take something out of the store!!  The items above cost me just under $5 total after coupons and rewards!! How great is that??

What Can You Get For $5??

Sorry....I'm a day late on "What Can You Get For $5?".  Better late than never, right?

Ok, I know we are all way passed being ready for spring, AND all the cute shorts, capris and sandals are calling our name!  But, have you stopped to notice the magnificent clearance sales of winter items?  Now is a great time to buy for next season.  Items are deeply discounted sometimes up to 90% this time of year for winter merchandise.  Take a look at what I picked up a few weeks ago at Justice combining the clearance prices and my 40% off coupon....

I paid just under $5 for all the pieces you see here.  The dress, sweater, and blazer were only $1.43 each and the scarf was 49 cents!!! The regular price of these items (minus the scarf) was around $35 each (scarf was priced at $17).  You can't beat that!!  The best part is, when fall and winter returns (I'm not looking forward to that) then you won't have to pay full price for your items.  You can simply shop from your closet of clearance finds!! How great is that?!?

What Can YOU Get for $5?

Since it is that time of year again to do Spring cleaning, this week's "What Can YOU Get For $5?" is all about just that!  There are lots of great deals on cleaning supplies at places you may not expect to find them.  Always be on the look out for household products at the Drug Stores (Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS) and also look for sales at Kroger, too.  I purchased several of these items at Kroger during the Household Mega Event which is still going on this week.  For more info you can check out my post here.

So here's what you can get for five bucks to help along with your Spring Cleaning:

Too bad this picture doesn't contain some Spring Cleaning magic fairy dust to help us all out!! I could really use that this week with my Spring Cleaning :)  What's your Spring cleaning tips and tricks?  Leave a comment with any helpful advice to getting our houses spic n span and maybe some tips for motivation!!

What Can YOU Get for $5??

It's time again for "What Can You Get For $5?"  Since Easter is right around the corner AND there are so many great Easter Candy and Basket fillers on sale this week, I thought I would show you how you can make a super Easter Basket with five bucks.  Keep in mind that we reuse Easter Baskets around my house.  My kiddos have used the same Pottery Barn Easter Basket from their first Easter until now, SO I did not count that in with the $5.00 total.

But since we are talking about that, what a great way to save on money by using the same basket year after year!  I think I maybe gave $15 or so (including monogram) for these Bunny Baskets when the girls were babies.  They have been well worth their money over the past several years!  In fact, they are on sale now for $8.99 at Pottery Barn Kids.  Head over here to see all the details!  So here is a look at a what you can put in your kid's Easter Basket for five bucks!

For some great candy deals head over here.  Also, the activity and sticker books are on sale with an in ad coupon at Walgreens this week for 3/$1.  The colored pens are 4/$1 with in ad coupons.  What a great and budget friendly way to stuff an Easter Basket!

Now, if I can just save at least a few of the Reese's eggs until Easter!!!

What Can YOU Get for $5???

This week's "What Can You Get for $5?" is all about baby!  Lots of times I see great deals on items that I don't necessarily need or use, but I go ahead and get them anyway.  I will either give them to my family or friends if they use it or save it back for gift giving or donating.

Seems like there are great deals and coupons out there all the time for baby items.  Mine are not babies anymore, but on occasion I'll pick up a few really great deals and stash them back for baby shower gifts or hospital gifts.  Here's a look at what you could take to a new Mom at the hospital and spend $5...

When I take a gift to the hospital, I like to take a little something for Baby, Mom, and can't leave out Dad! (the Excedrin and candy are for him :)  How great do you think a new set of parents would feel to get an awesome basket filled with these items to use at the hospital and then take home with them?  And how great would you feel to take it to them?  That's why I love bargain/frugal shopping, it allows me to give more to my family and friends and still stay within my budget!  It's a win-win for everyone!

What Can YOU Get For $5???

So it's Tuesday and that means it's time for one of my favorite features on the blog..."What can YOU get for $5?"   This week's theme is grocery shopping.  With the talk of grocery prices skyrocketing everyday, I thought I would show that it still is possible to get groceries at a great price!  Now, keep in mind I don't get this great of a deal every week, but hey we take it when we can, right!!!  Here's what I got this week for five dollars at Kroger during their Mega Event.....

Not too bad, huh?  Gotta love Kroger and their sales!!  To see how I scored these items so you can go out and get yourself $5 worth of groceries :)  head over The Kroger Deals Post for all the info!

What can YOU get for $5?

It's Tuesday, so it's "What can YOU get for $5" time!   This week I wanted to show you what I was able to score at Kroger by participating in their Cart Buster Deal of The Day promo.  This was a great way to earn ecoupons for FREE items!  Some days were big prizes, some were small, days when the server froze up, days went it didn't...you get the picture.  So while I did not win something each day, I did get several products for FREE, which is always super frugal!

Unfortunatly, it ended on Saturday the 12th.  However a  a new promo has started called Kroger March To Savings.  You can head over there each day from now until April 3 to play for your chance at one of 30,000 instant prizes!

Here's a look at what I picked up at Kroger with my Deal of The Day winnings:

I also won a bag of Chex Mix and the Large Size Coffee Mate which are not pictured.  The retail price of all my ecoupon winnings was over $55!!  I paid NOTHING!!! The cost of the above items were deducted when I swiped my Kroger Plus card! How great is that!!

So, I know your saying "This is supposed to be what can you get for $5, not what can you get for FREE", right?  So here's what I spent the $5 on to reward myself for such a great day....

Another Carmel Java Chiller and this time I added a Cheeseburger !!!!!

What did you get for five bucks this week?  I would love to hear about it!!  Did you participate in the Cart Buster Deal of The Day Promo?  What did you win?
